Hiroe Kato
普段はフラワーアレンジメント講師として活躍する彼女。じつは音楽に合わせて即興で花を活ける人気のライブパフォーマーでもある。ギターやピアノなどとのセッションで生まれる即興のアレンジメント作品は、でき上がるまでどんなものになるのか本人にもわからない。音を体内に取り込み、花の芸術として再表現するそれは、普段私達が目にするフラワーアレンジメントとは一線を画すエネルギッシュでエキサイティングな風景だ。最近では書道家や尺八や琴などの和楽器とのコラボレーションにも参加し、新たな花の形に挑み続けている。
She is a flower arrangement instructor as well as a live performer improvises flower arrangements to live music. In the session,
she can't predict how her work is going to be with the sound of guitar and piano. It is energetic and exciting experience
seeing her incorporates sound into her body and re-expresses it as an art of flowers. It's so much different from what we know as regular flower arrangements. Recently, she collaborates with calligraphers, Shakuhachi and Koto musicians challenging the new shape of flower arts.

太めの茎もクラフトチョキでカットしてゆく。この日の撮影はこのクラフトチョキ１本で全ての制作を行った。
Cut the thick stem with Craft Choki. For this shooting, she made all the works with this one Craft Choki.
ヨーロッパのアレンジメントテクニックと日本で学んだ生け花の技術を巧みに織り交ぜ、彼女自身の世界を創り上げる。
She combines European arrangement and Japanese Ikebana to create her own world.
ブランシュの投げ入れ（ レースフラワー、宿根スイートピー、花留は海藻のドライ）
Blanche arrangement(race flower, sweet pea, dried seaweed)
ボールの水に花を浮かべる作品を即興でアレンジしてくれた。趣味でジャズピアノを弾くほど音楽好きの彼女。BGMに合わせて手際よく花をカットしてゆく。
Improvised work of floats flowers in the ball. She loves music so much and plays jazz piano as a hobby.
乾いた海藻を花留として使うことに。その場のアイデアでどんどん作品が変わってゆく。
She decided to use dried seaweed as a flower bracing. Work changes with the idea of the scene.
春の野原のアレンジ（ラグラス、ラナンキュラス、スカビオサ、スプレーバラ、宿根スイートピー）
Arrangement of spring fields (Raglas, Ranunculus, Scaviosa, Spray Roses, Sweet Pea)
目黒の蟠竜寺でのライブパフォーマンスの様子。琴と尺八の音に合わせて即興で花をいけてゆく。赤いグリップのクラフトチョキはお嬢様からプレゼントされたもの。
Live performance at Banryuji in Meguro. Improvises a flower arrangement to the sound of the Koto and Shakuhachi. This red grip Craft Choki is a gift from her daughter.
和楽器の調べと重なり合うように作品ができあがってゆく。お寺の本堂ということもあり、会場は幻想的な雰囲気に包まれた。
The work finishes gradually to overlap with the melody of the Japanese musical instruments. As the venue was a temple's main hall, it was surrounded by fantastic atmosphere.
